Play Nice

My mind drifts back to cold, glossy memories,
Memories of when my biggest trouble was not getting the
He-Man figurine that I wanted.

Perhaps the world would be more innocent,
More accessable to dreamers,
Children,
And poets,
If we all just played nice.
Be nice to me, and I will be nice to you.
We should all be nice to each other.

I sit in the sandbox of my childhood, and the needle pokes me in the ass.
I frown and am sad,
And very worried.
Worried for me,
Worried for my children,
Worried for the future in general.
Please,
Play nice.
